Chairmanship aspirant under the flagship of Allied People’s Movement (APM), Honourable Olatunji Smith Balogun, popularly known as Kollabo, has formally made known his intention to contest for the chairmanship position in Ibadan North East Local Government Area of Oyo State in the forthcoming local government election.
Speaking during the declaration ceremony held at Egbejoda Cooperative Hall, Agugu, Ibadan, Balogun, said his decision to contest for the Chairman of the local government was borne out of his desire to offer quality leadership and rev up grassroots development through workable policies as well as inclusive government which will not discriminate irrespective of religion or political affiliation.
He assured party members that, if he secure the party’s ticket and eventually emerge as chairman, his administration will be participatory and focused on improving the welfare of residents.
Balogun, expressed gratitude to governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, the APM governorship candidate, Hon. Abimbola Adekanmbi, for their exemplary leadership.
He also, appreciated his political mentor, a prominent figure in the political turf of Oyo State, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan for what he described as his guidance and inspiration.
While appreciating other party loyalists in attendance, Balogun, said: “Your overwhelming show of love and solidarity has strengthened my resolve to serve with integrity, humility, and dedication. I remain committed to building an inclusive, progressive, and people-oriented Ibadan North East where every resident can enjoy the dividends of good governance.”
The event was witnessed by notable party leaders, including the party’s Oyo South Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Mashood Adesina; the State Deputy Chairman, Mr. John Adejumo; and the State Treasurer, Alhaji Musa Babajide among others.
