Ekimogun Leicester, a noble group comprising notable Ondo sons and daughters, has honoured Dr. Michael Olamidotun Akintomide Ajilo with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding achievements, excellence and contributions to humanitarian and community development.

The award was presented during the inaugural Ekimogun Leicester 2026 celebration held on 29 August, 2026, under the patronship of Dr. Tola Awosika.

The celebration provided an important platform for Ondo Ekimogun sons and daughters resident in Leicester to come together to deliberate on ideas and initiatives that will strengthen their connections with the sociocultural, economic and infrastructural development of Ondo Kingdom, while fostering unity, progress and brotherliness among Ekimoguns in the United Kingdom.

As the special guest at the occasion, the All Progressives Congress (APC) MHR candidate for Ondo East/West Federal Constituency called on Ekimoguns in the diaspora to become front-line partners in the developmental architecture of Ondo Kingdom through purposeful collaborations with government representatives, state and federal lawmakers, traditional institutions and other relevant stakeholders, in the best interest of the people.

While receiving the award presented by the Lord Mayor of Leicester, Councillor Kulwinder Singh, Dr. Ajilo expressed his profound appreciation to Ekimogun Leicester for finding him worthy of the recognition. He described the honour as a catalyst for renewed commitment and strength to do more for his people through humanitarian interventions and initiatives aimed at advancing the socio-economic and infrastructural development of Ondo East/West Federal Constituency when elected as a Member of the House of Representatives.

The Ondo-born grassroots politician and internationally exposed medical doctor further pledged to leverage his international relationships, networks and purposeful engagements with Ondo Ekimogun sons and daughters in the diaspora to promote meaningful partnerships and developmental opportunities for Ondo Kingdom.
